Two Ways to Copy Steps from One Path to Another

Two Ways to Copy Steps from One Path to Another

There may be times when you want to reuse content that you've already created in PATHS—whether you're pulling videos from an asset library Path, duplicating a document Step about a diagnosis for a new patient, or simply repurposing content across different programs.

One of the great time-saving features in PATHS is the ability to copy any existing Step into another Path. Once a Step is created, it can be reused as often as needed without having to recreate it from scratch.

Below are two simple methods for copying a Step from one Path into another. Choose the option that works best for your workflow.

Option 1 – “Push”: Copy from the Library Path Itself

  1. Open the Path where your assets are stored.
  2. If you’ve grouped the assets into Trails, expand the Trail to view individual Steps.
  3. Locate the Step you want to copy and click the three dots menu (⋯) on the right side of the Step.
  4. Select “Copy to…”
  5. Choose the destination Path.
  6. The Step will be added to the bottom of that Path. You can then drag and drop it to the appropriate location.

Option 2 – “Pull”: Add from Existing Steps While Editing a Path

  1. In the Path you’re working on, hover over the blue “Add Steps” button (top right).
  2. From the dropdown, select “Add from existing Steps”.
  3. A panel will open showing all the Paths you've created on the left-hand side.
  4. Scroll or search to find your library Path.
  5. Click on the Path name to view all its Steps in the middle column.
  6. Select one or more Steps you’d like to copy, then click the blue “Copy Step(s)” button.
  7. The selected Steps will be added to the bottom of your current Path.
Important Note:
When using this method, the PATHS platform treats Trails as individual Steps. So if your library contains Trails, all of the Steps within the Trail will be copied into your Path. If you want more granular control, we recommend using Option 1, which allows you to copy individual Steps only.
