Using a Path as an Asset Library in PATHS
If you have a collection of videos, documents, audio files, or images that you’d like to reuse across multiple Paths, one of the easiest ways to manage this is by creating a dedicated "Library Path." This allows you to store and organize assets in a central location and then easily copy individual Steps into other Paths as needed.
Step 1: Create a New Library Path
Start by creating a new Path specifically for storing your assets. This will act as your personal asset library.
- Give the Path a clear, descriptive name so you can easily locate it later.
- Examples:
- Dementia Video Collection
- Caregiver Resources Library
- Patient Education Docs
Step 2: Add a Step for Each Asset
Inside your new Library Path, create one Step for each asset you want to store.
- For example, upload each video as its own Step.
- This approach also works with documents (PDFs), audio clips, images, or any other content you commonly reuse.
- Note: Once a Step is created in PATHS, it can be copied and reused in any other Path—saving you time and effort.
Step 3: Name Steps for Easy Identification
Use clear, concise, and descriptive titles for each Step. This is especially important when you start copying Steps into other Paths, as you'll want to find and identify them quickly.
- Example: Instead of naming a video just “Session 1,” try something like “Dementia Basics – Session 1 (Video)”
Step 4: Organize with Trails (Optional)
If your asset library contains a large number of Steps, consider grouping them into Trails based on categories or topics.
Examples:
- Training Videos, Patient Handouts, Community Resources
- Week 1, Week 2, etc., for content you distribute by week
- This added layer of organization will make your library easier to browse later when pulling content into a new Path.
