Web Embed Steps - How to embed a Google Map into a Rich Media Step on Paths

Follow these instructions to embed a Google Map into a Web Embed Step:

Start in Google


Step 1:  
  1. Go to https://www.google.com/maps/ 
  2. Enter the address you want to locate on the map. 
  3. After the address map loads, click on the hamburger menu in the left nav bar.




















Step 2:
  1. Click on “Share or embed map” on the left nav menu 



Step 3:
  1. The Share box will open. Click on “Embed a Map”  



Step 4:
  1. Click on the arrow next to the size options 





Step 5:
  1. Choose the “Custom Size” option  


Step 6: 
  1. Enter the custom size of 1000 x 600 
  2. Click on “COPY HTML” 




Create a Web Embed Step in the Paths Platform


Step 7:
  1. In the Paths platform, create a new Web Embed Step from scratch.  
Step 8: 
  1. Fill in the name of the step 
  2. Add a description 
  3. Paste the copied Google Map link into the “Content” box
    1. The map should appear for preview. 
    2. NOTE: If the map doesn’t appear, clear the contents of the “Content” box and try to copy the link again from Google and re-paste into the “Content” box. 
  4. When you see the map preview, click “Create” to complete the process.
